Frequently Asked Questions
How is the sale price calculated?
Sale price = original × (1 − discount/100). A $100 item at 25% off → $25 saved, $75 final price.
Can I calculate stacked discounts?
This tool applies one discount percentage. For two sequential discounts (20% then 10%), calculate the first, then use the sale price as the new original.
What if the discount is a fixed dollar amount?
Divide the dollar discount by original price and multiply by 100 to get the equivalent percent, then enter that rate.
Does this include tax?
No. The result is pre-tax. Add sales tax separately with a tax calculator if needed.
Is this discount calculator free?
Yes. Unlimited calculations with no signup; prices stay in your browser.
